Parents are the first and best educators of their children. Therefore, it is essential that home and school work together in a spirit of harmony to develop, promote, and protect the vision and mission of the school.
The St. James PTO relies on parents to help with classroom and schoolwide activies each year. We ask for 4-5 parent volunteers from each class to help make sure the year runs smoothly.
The Class Parties/Room Parent will be in charge of making sure that the class parties are coordinated with the teacher and that another parent/parents are going to provide the food, drinks, paper goods, craft(s), and game(s). If you can’t be a room parent please sign up to help with at least one party.
The Yearbook Parent will be responsible for putting together 2 (8 1/2 X 11) pages about your class for the year. You will be responsible for collecting pictures from class projects, field trips, parties, etc. These 2 pages can be digital or taken from pictures cut up scrapbook style.
The Auction Parent will be responsible for putting together the class Auction basket and craft/quilt. You will be responsible for coming up with a theme and making sure everything gets to the Auction Committee on time. The Auction Committee will hold a short meeting to explain the criteria for the items.
The Class Secretary will be responsible for helping find volunteers for PTO sponsored events. Those events include Christmas Craft Day, Chicken Noodle/Chili Dinner, Catholic Schools Week, Carnival Day, etc. You will be given phone numbers and email addresses of the parents in your class.
